Dear AMSLI Community, I hope this message finds you well and excited to begin another school year! My name is John Towers, and I am honored to introduce myself as the incoming President of the Association of Math Supervisors of Long Island (AMSLI). It is a privilege to serve in this role, and I am truly excited for the opportunity to work alongside such a dedicated community of mathematics educators and leaders. I would like to extend my sincere thanks to Dr. Joanne Fennessy for her outstanding leadership and service during her time as AMSLI President. Her commitment to excellence and vision for continued growth have played a vital role in expanding AMSLI’s impact on supporting mathematics education across Long Island. As we prepare for the upcoming school year, I look forward to continuing AMSLI’s mission of supporting the teaching and learning of mathematics in our schools. Our collective work remains critical as we guide instructional practices, support teacher development, and strive to meet the diverse needs of our students. This year, AMSLI will host two conferences centered on important and timely topics that are shaping our classrooms:
These themes were selected in response to the evolving landscape of education and the ongoing conversations among educators about how best to engage and empower our students. We are eager to tap into the expertise of local educators that will explore innovative strategies, share best practices, and provide opportunities for professional growth around these topics throughout the year. Additionally, we are looking to enhance the opportunities for AMSLI membership to engage in ongoing conversations on a variety of topics through peer-led collegial circles. More details regarding this opportunity for collaboration are to come. This is one of several perks that are available to members when joining the organization for just $25. Please join using the link: https://amsli.wildapricot.org/page-7745 I am grateful to be part of this vibrant network of leaders and look forward to collaborating with you in the months ahead. Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any questions or ideas as we begin this new chapter together. Warm regards, |
